A MESSAGE FROM MANUEL ESTEBAN
Since taking office in January of 2022, I am proud of what I have been able to accomplish as a County Legislator representing the 16th District. My goal continues to work towards ensuring that our community remains a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family.

First and foremost, I feel the most important job of county government is to provide for public safety. Our law enforcement and first responders work tirelessly for all our residents so that we stay safe, and they have my unwavering support. I work closely with the officers of Suffolk County Police Department to ensure that we will continue to have an open dialogue on issues and concerns that may arise in our district. During my tenure, we reinstated ShotSpotter, improving public safety and cracking down on gun violence in our communities.
Together with my colleagues, I continue to work hard for you to reduce the cost of county government, stimulate the local economy, improve water quality and protect our environment by preserving open space.
To this end, we have:

Eliminated public campaign financing, stopping the practice of using taxpayer dollars to fund political campaigns.

Revised term limit laws limiting most public officials to 12 years total in their office.

Limited the Suffolk County gas tax during the pricing crisis.

Approved planning of the Ronkonkoma HUB project, creating thousands of jobs in Suffolk County.
- Voted to preserve open space and improve water quality.
